Tacoma ranked at the top of 100 large metro areas surveyed by the BestPlaces ranking researcher, which also took into account other factors such as commute times, alcohol consumption and self-reported mental health.
According to www.bestplaces.net , Tacoma, WA tops the list for being America's most stressful city. With one the highest divorce rates in the country along with high unemployment, Tacoma has been rated as a city not for the faint at heart. Bestplaces.net took a look at the top 100 large metro areas and took into account factors such as commuting time, self-reported mental health and alcohol consumption, and divorce rates.
Although, Tacomonas enjoy the safety associated with a low crime rate, their dreary weather, high suicide rate and property crimes makes up for that small fraction of comfort.

Miami, FL
Miami has one of the highest violent crime rates in the country as well as one of the highest property crime rates. Making Miami even more stressful is the long commute time, a high unemployment rate, and a high rate of divorce. Despite these factors, Miami residents manage to maintain a positive mental attitude. Miami has enjoyed a large population migration due to its weather, housing boom and location to the Caribbean. Within the last five years, the average price of a house went from $150,000 to $265,000. Has seen its ups and its downs especially of late. Hurricane Katrina devasted this once tourist haven. New Orleans a high violent crime rate and a high unemployment rate. There's also a significant number of suicides and divorces. But the residents of new Orleans are resilient like no other. As New Orleans continues to rebuild its residents are constantly reminded of losses that have endured.

New Yorkers maintain very strong family ties have have been said to be of the most loyal friends you will ever have.
